Summer Newsletter 2012
Summer is almost here and the Christmas Season is coming up fast, where has
the last year gone? I had the mistaken idea that as we got older life would slow
to a gentler pace and we would have more time for our textile interests!
But it’s not too late to create handcrafted Christmas gifts, which are so enjoyed
by family and friends, or design attractive garments from our cool cottons yarns.
Exciting news flash – we are expanding our range to include more novelty and
cotton yarns, hopefully they will be arriving early next year, so check our website
for more details in January. www.Glenoraweaving.com.au
To make room for the new arrivals we are having a Super Summer Sale to clear
older stock at heavily discounted prices! Two of the wool yarns are being deleted
from our catalogue, Mattgarn rug wool and the Tuna 6/2 , these yarns are now on
sale at below cost price, so stock up before they disappear!
The Earth Palette dyes are another product being discontinued. This cold dying
system is very easy to use and colourfast, but our remaining colours are now
priced to clear and would be a great bargain for textile groups.
We are also selling 2011issues of the weaving magazine Vav at half price and all
back issues of Handwoven and Textile are priced at only $5 per copy.
All our specials are listed overleaf, so check out these super bargains and save!
The latest Ashford Wheel magazine is now available with some great articles
and patterns for spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing. The glossy magazine is
priced at $8 each or we have some complimentary newsprint issues for our
customers, so please ask for a copy to be included with your next order.
Our office will be closed for Christmas from the 21st December to 2nd January.
Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and an enjoyable and safe New Year!
Enjoy your Textiles!

Spring Newsletter 2012
We are heading into such a lovely time of year with the trees blossoming, spring flowers and bulbs everywhere and new growth bursting into life! Spring gives us energy and inspiration to explore our creativity!
It’s been a busy winter season for Glenora Weaving & Wool as we travelled to more than twelve trading venues. Bob and I really enjoy meeting up with everyone again, thank you to all our loyal customers who support us at these events, you make the work worthwhile!
We have some lovely new products in our range, two new yarns for weaving or knitting plus some different fibres for the spinners and feltmakers. A beautiful kid mohair yarn is now in stock, this soft silky yarn has a delightful handle and drape, making it ideal for knitting or weaving. This lovely yarn is available in natural cream in 100g skeins and is 100% Australian grown and spun. The new 2 ply Alpaca Ultimate yarn is gorgeous, especially for weaving soft wraps and scarves, it’s available in 100g/400m skeins in six lovely shades of berry, cream, black, navy, red and donkey brown.
Ashford have expanded their fibre range and we are now stocking three of their new products. The merino/silk is available in ten multi-colours plus a gorgeous vanilla blend and with 20% silk, they are a delight to spin or felt. Perendale and romney fleeces are now available in cream carded slivers plus corriedale sliver in four natural shades from light grey to chocolate brown plus cream. Another new fibre is the corriedale ‘fushion’ which has four dyed multi-colours plus a natural blend, great for felt-making. All these slivers are available in one kilo bumps or 250g bags. We are also stocking the new Ashford Angelina metallics in gold or silver, a great way to jazz up your art yarns or create funky felt!
All these new products are listed overleaf along with our Spring Specials, but if you would like more information please phone or email us, we are very happy to assist our customers personally or post a copy of our new catalogue. Don’t forget to check out our website with the on-line shopping cart, all our yarn sample cards, the colour range of merino tops plus photos of most of our products.

Winter Newsletter 2012
We are certainly feeling the winter chills now, it’s time to wrap ourselves in wool and enjoy knitting and creating our warm textiles!
It’s the busiest time of the year for Glenora Weaving & Wool as we travel to our trading venues, so do check out the diary dates on the reverse of this page and visit our stand to take advantage of the great Show Specials.
At the recent Contextart in Springwood, we conducted a lucky draw for the workshop participants and the winner of the Glenora Weaving $100 gift voucher was Telena Roth, a very talented fibre artist, congratulations Telena!
Unfortunately, the spinning mill in New Zealand who supplied us with fine merino yarns has closed down recently. This will affect the supply of merino 110/3, 74/2 and the hi-twist yarn, however we are searching for a new supplier. Weaving yarns require a higher twist than those for knitting but sadly there are no mills left in Australia producing weaving yarns.
We still have good stocks of the very soft possum/merino/silk. This luxury yarn is available in 100g skeins in seven lovely shades and just 50g knits or weaves a warm, light scarf. (free pattern available)
Another great winter yarn is the 4 ply Alpaca which is so warm and soft for scarves and was recently featured in the Knitters Guild newsletter with our pattern for cute baby footie socks! We also have free scarf patterns available for our yarns, so don’t forget to ask for one when purchasing our products for knitting.
The new superfine merino ‘twists’ have been selling well, available in cream or lovely dyed shades they are perfect for creative yarns or felting.
We are currently offering some great Winter Specials, so please turn over the page for more details but remember the supply is limited on some products.
The new website is very popular and our customers are enjoying the convenience of on-line shopping at glenoraweaving.com.au
It’s certainly the ideal way to view the sample cards, access information on our products and fill your shopping cart! Of course, you are still welcome to phone or email us with any queries or orders!
