Summer Newsletter 2011
Welcome to our Summer newsletter for 2011!
A huge thank you to all the wonderful customers who supported our recent Spring Sale and open days! The weekend was a huge success with over 300 visitors attending, perfect weather and great social networking of craftspeople.
We really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with so many of our loyal customers and ‘old’ textile friends and Bob also had a great time chatting with everyone at the garage sale! (yes, he has sold his AJS motorbike!!)
A special thank you to the Illawarra Feltmakers and the Berry Spinners and Weavers for interesting displays and demonstrations, their participation added so much to the success and enjoyment of the weekend.
The winner of our lucky door prize was Annette Brereton, a very talented and versatile craftswoman who will enjoy using her $25 gift voucher!
We also had a lucky draw for all our postal customers during October and the winner was Betty Moore from Milton. This wonderful woman (who is in her eighties) spins and knits beautiful rugs in lovely colour combinations for the nursing home, she is an inspiration to us all!
Once again the year is drawing to a close and Christmas is coming, but the good news is that we still have some great Specials available to create handcrafted gifts, which are always appreciated by family and friends. There are several bargain baskets full of Cotton, Linen and Nialin yarns in a great range of colours, which are all reduced by 35%, a huge saving! Lintow nel 6 is being discontinued from our catalogue so this interesting linen yarn is priced to clear at just $15 per cob. Some of our wool yarns are also discounted – Mattgarn, Tuna, Mora and Mobelatta are all reduced to just $10 each in selected colours, a saving of $5 per 100g skein.
Check overleaf for more information on our Super Summer Specials!
Bob and I have been operating Glenora Weaving & Wool since 1998 and we will soon generate our 10,000th customer invoice! This lucky customer will receive a $100 gift voucher to spend with us, will it be you? Don’t forget to check out our new website but please remember that we also accept phone orders and enjoy chatting with our customers.
Our office will be closed from December 23 to January 2 for our annual holidays.
Best wishes for the Christmas Season and enjoy your Textiles! Christine@Glenoraweaving.com.au

Winter Newsletter
Dear Customers,
Welcome to our third newsletter for 2011, we are certainly feeling the winter chills now! It’s time to wrap ourselves in wool and enjoy the longer evenings, knitting and creating our warm textiles by the fire.
It’s the busiest time of the year for Glenora Weaving and Wool as we travel extensively to many trading venues where we enjoy meeting up with our customers again. Please check out our diary dates on the reverse of this page and try to visit us at these shows as we always have some great bargains and specials available!
Bob and I have just returned from the Creative Fibre Festival in New Zealand, which was a great success and a wonderful opportunity to meet with our new customers from Glenora Craft (Dunedin), the business we purchased last year.
We enjoyed the opportunity to make contact with the Kiwi craftspeople and will look forward to supporting their textile creativity!
A new shipment of the popular Possum/merino/silk yarn has arrived at last!
This luxury yarn is available on cones or 100g skeins in seven lovely shades and just 50g knits or weaves a warm, light scarf. (free pattern available)
The new superfine merino ‘twists’ are selling like hot cakes, they are available in natural cream or brilliant hand-dyed variegated colours and are perfect for creative hand-spun yarns or easy felted scarves.
We are currently offering some great Super Winter Specials, so please turn over the page for big discounts but remember the supply is limited on some products and they are only available while stocks last, so be quick!
Our new Website is almost finished at last, and is a vast improvement on our ten year old site! We have had very positive feedback from customers who are already using glenoraweaving.com.au but we would also value any comments or suggestions you would like to make. It’s certainly the ideal way to view the sample cards, access information on all of our products and fill your shopping cart!
Of course, you are still welcome to phone or email us with your order and we are always happy to offer customer support with any queries.
Enjoy your Textiles!
Autumn Newsletter
Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter for 2011!
My favourite time of the year has arrived, the weather is cooler with lovely days and crisp nights and now I can begin foraging in my wool stash and start planning the winter projects! But, like most craftspeople I always seem to need a yarn or fibre that isn’t there, so I have to go shopping again!
If this sounds familiar, check out the great Autumn Specials on the reverse of this page, you might find exactly what you need to inspire your next project! Another reason I like this season is because we start travelling to the wool events in our Diary Dates ( see details over the page) and we really enjoy meeting up with all our customers again, old and new! Come along and visit our stand at these venues, we always have great Show Specials.
The Textile Forum at Orange is our first event, this is an amazing week of workshops, activities, talks, presentations, installations and great fun for the students and visitors! The trading hall is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and with 20 traders selling their wares, there is something for everyone!
Phone us for more details or visit the Tafta website : www.tafta.org.au
Then we are off to our first show in New Zealand, the Creative Fibre Festival which is to be held at Thames in the North Island. It will be interesting to meet some of our Kiwi customers, and hopefully find some nice new yarns or products for our catalogue.
I really admire New Zealand for their thriving wool industry, which is a huge asset to Tourism as well as the textile world, not like Australia with very little wool industry left! It’s so disappointing that it’s becoming more difficult to source a range of Australian grown and processed yarns.
Fortunately, we were recently able to purchase a good supply of natural Merino tops in the new Superfine ‘twists’ or slivers format, the last produced by an Australian mill!
Our new website is almost finished with the on-line shopping cart, but don’t forget that you are welcome to phone or email with your orders, we are also very happy to help with any advice or queries.
Enjoy your Textiles!
